Two forms, one species

Both are sold by log size in cubic feet and cut to the lengths your mill works with. Mixed containers are possible for a first order.

  • End grain of a large stack of round logs

    Round logs

Felled from registered plantations, debarked and cross-cut in the forest, then brought to the yard, where each log is numbered, measured and painted on the end grain. Nothing is loaded that is not on the tally.

The standard form for sawmills in India and Vietnam.

    Ask for round logs
  • Close-up of a sawn timber block

    Square logs

The same logs squared on four sides before shipping. Sapwood and the worst of the taper come off in Ecuador, so the container carries usable timber instead of waste, and the mill starts closer to a finished board.

Higher volume per container than round logs, and less freight paid on waste.

    Ask for square logs

Why buyers keep coming back to teak

Teak has been worked for thousands of years and was reserved by Burmese, Indian and Thai royalty as a royal timber. It remains the reference hardwood: dimensionally stable, rich in natural oils and able to stand outdoors for decades with little more than an occasional clean.

Those oils and the tight grain are why teak is still chosen for boat decks and rails, exterior joinery, high-end furniture, veneer and architectural work. Plantation teak from Latin America, grown in Ecuador as well as in Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Colombia, has the same working properties with a lighter, more even colour and a supply that can be planned.

  • Heartwood naturally resistant to termites and most wood-boring pests
  • Durable in full exposure to sun, rain and salt air
  • Water resistant, with low shrinkage and swelling in service
  • Strong and stable, yet only moderate in weight
  • Natural oils hold finishes and slow surface checking

From forest to port

The sequence is what keeps the tally honest. Nothing is measured twice by two different people, and nothing leaves the yard before the paperwork is complete.

  1. Plantation selection

We inspect standing stands, confirm registration and agree the harvest with the owner.

  2. Cross-cut and mark

Logs are cut to buyer lengths, debarked, numbered and painted on the end grain.

  3. Measure and grade

Size recorded per log, defects noted, class assigned and entered on the tally sheet.

  4. Treatment and papers

Fumigation where required, phytosanitary certificate and export documents issued.

  5. Stuffing and sailing

Containers stuffed under supervision at Guayaquil, with photographs sent before departure.
